What we collect
- Account info: email, display name, and (if you use phone invites) phone number.
- Room & booking data: rooms you list or book, times, notes, and membership.
- Payment data: processed by Stripe. We store payment metadata (e.g. a Stripe session id and booking amount) but never see or store full card numbers.
- Technical data: essential authentication cookies and standard server logs.
How we use it
To operate the platform: authenticate you, create and manage bookings, process payments and payouts, send transactional email (booking, invite, and rent-reminder messages), and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
We share data only as needed with the processors that run Backline: Supabase (authentication, database, storage), Stripe (payments & payouts), Resend (transactional email), and, if you use SMS invites, Twilio. Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Cookies
We use only strictly-necessary authentication cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices & rights
You can view and update your profile in Settings, and delete your account yourself from Settings at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information — for data requests, email hello@backline.space and we’ll process it promptly. Note that some records tied to completed payments may be retained as required for legal, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes.
Data retention & security
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. We use industry-standard measures to protect it, but no system is perfectly secure.
Children
Backline is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
